As photosynthesis, driven by light energy, transforms inorganic compounds into organic matter, our task is to obtain, from this biomass, products of interest for different socio-economic sectors, including new biofuels, which can contribute to progress, social well-being, and most likely, to modify the currently unsustainable model of development adopted by global society, particularly since the 19th-century Industrial Revolution.
The stimulating scientific and technological challenge we pursue is earning recognition and widespread support from the scientific community, European, national, and regional authorities, as well as the outstanding contribution of major international industry players, along with our over one hundred and fifty collaborators and partner companies participating in various international programs, all firmly committed to making our planet a more sustainable space for coexistence and progress.
