Testimonials from some scientific collaborators

Jorge Jordana
Jorge Jordana FIAB former General Secretary (Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries)

"When I met AlgaEnergy and first got to know about their activities, I understood I was witnessing a new and potent sector of our agroindustry. While there are products that generate new commercial categories, there are also companies that generate new branches of economic activity. AlgaEnergy is one of them."

Keith Kenny
Keith Kenny Senior Director McDonald's Supply Chain Europe

"A big thank you to the entire team of AlgaEnergy. I really appreciate the time that you spent with us. I certainly learned a lot. I visit many facilities during the course of my work but I have to say I was very impressed by your team. They were all excellent. Their professionalism and knowledge were outstanding. I do hope we have the opportunity to work together in the future."

Prof. Gabriel Acién
Prof. Gabriel Acién Tenured Professor at the University of Almeria

"AlgaEnergy is a company with a strong record of innovation in the industrial development of microalgae biotechnology — more precisely, in the innovation of sustainable large scale bioprocesses based on these micro-organisms. We highly appreciate the professional capacity of AlgaEnergy’s team and the company’s vision. Therefore, for this University and its scientists, it will be a great pleasure to continue working in the coming years with this Spanish company, efficiently promoting university-enterprise collaboration. AlgaEnergy has this kind of collaboration in its DNA."

Prof. Ana María Otero
Prof. Ana María Otero Tenured Professor of the University of Santiago de Compostela

"The Group of Aquaculture and Marine Biotechnology of the USC has collaborated with AlgaEnergy since 2009 in developing innovative microalgae products for the aquaculture sector. AlgaEnergy' firm commitment to innovation has allowed our group to develop diverse and relevant research projects, resulting in the achievement of milestones within the sector, such as the biomass production of the strain Isochrysis galbana, one of the cornerstones of nutrition in marine aquaculture. The USC is pleased to continue collaborating with AlgaEnergy and its qualified scientific team in developing innovative products for the aquaculture sector, focused on bringing to market products based on new strains, as well as on quality and durability improvements of products derived from traditional strains."

Ana Salazar
Ana Salazar Head of Quality and Environment Division at Aena Aeropuertos

"In AENA AIRPORTS we promote projects and R&D activities that are notable for their role in the continous improvement of the general management and security of our airport operations, striving for efficiency in our processes, products and services, while remaining mindful of sustainability and environmental care. Since the project presented by AlgaEnergy fulfilled those requirements, we entered into a collaboration agreement in 2011 that allowed AlgaEnergy to build and operate its Technological Platform of Microalgae Experimentation (PTEM) in the Adolfo Suarez Madrid- Barajas International Airport. The PTEM today constitutes a potent R&D tool, pioneering significant developments and insights into environmental improvement and the generation of energetic products from microalgae."

Prof. Mercedes García González
Prof. Mercedes García González Tenured Professor of the University of Seville (IBVF)

"The Microalgae Biotechnology Investigation Group from the Institute of Vegetable Biochemistry and Photosynthesis has collaborated closely with AlgaEnergy since late 2009. This fruitful relation has been taken the form of support by the company of different projects seeking to deep-dive into the knowledge and management of large scale microalgae culturing. The culmination of this common effort is the construction and start of operations of a 1ha culturing plant associated with the combined cycle power plant of Iberdrola in Arcos de la Frontera, Cadiz, within the frame of the European Project Life + CO2ALGAEFIX. We have enjoyed five years of affable collaboration with the people on AlgaEnergy’s team, of mutual understanding and personal and professional enrichment."

Javier Ojeda
Javier Ojeda Director of APROMAR

"Microalgae are the basis of life on Planet Earth, and have the capacity to synthesize unique molecules essential to all living creatures. In aquaculture, they are fundamental for larvae cultures. AlgaEnergy provides microalgal biomass of high quality to Spanish aquaculture, and is an international reference point in this leading-edge biotechnological sector."

Javier Remiro
Javier Remiro Managing Director of OESA Foundation

"Aquaculture is the sector of food production that has grown the most in recent decades worldwide. In the coming years, we expect to witness important developments in competitive and strategic sub-sectors such as microalgae, with multiple uses and applications, and an area in which AlgaEnergy is already well established."

Ramón Leal
Ramón Leal Founding Partner of SILEX Patents & Brands

"My relationship with AlgaEnergy began in 2009, when we were appointed as their IP Agents to register the company’s brands at a European level. More recently, different patents have been processed for AlgaEnergy at an international level, regarding their efficient, innovative and inventive processes and technology relating to production of microalgae and derivative products."
