CDTI grants both innovation projects in which AlgaEnergy participates as sole microalgae company, in the scope of functional nutrition
The Center for Industrial & Technological Development (CDTI), under the dependence of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, approved the two proposed projects in which AlgaEnergy participates, within the frame of the Strategic Program for National Business Research Consortiums (CIEN).
Specifically, the approved projects are METASIN and PROGRESO. Both projects, for which AlgaEnergy has consorted with 14 companies and several first-class research centers, seek out to increase the efficiency, quality, functionality and sustainability in the field of human nutrition by using innovative healthy ingredients. In this context, microalgae, catalogued as the food of the millennium by the UN, can play a key role towards increasing the healthy functionality of everyday foods.
AlgaEnergy is the only microalgae company in both innovation projects, such as in every other project AlgaEnergy is involved.
