AlgaEnergy’s activities keeps awakening the interest of the media. On the last occasion, it was the news bulletin of the Spanish TV channel Telemadrid which dedicated a prominent space to the company. A team of the program visited the Platform for Technology & Experimentation with Microalgae (PTEM) and broadcasted an interesting report focused on microalgae and their immense application potential in different industries. The program was broadcasted on July 5th.
In the report, Carlos Rodríguez-Villa and María Segura, General Manager and Technical Director of AlgaEnergy respectively, highlighted the properties of microalgae and their potential for application in sectors such as agriculture, cosmetics, nutrition, aquaculture and, in the future, the energetic sector. AlgaEnergy’s technology developed for microalgae cultivation and the inherent environmental factor -microalgae are responsible for more than 60% of the oxygen we breathe on Earth and they are the most efficient CO2 biofixation systems- had noteworthy mentions in the report. "We are the first company in the world that is uses CO2 from another industry to feed the microalgae", pointed out Rodríguez-Villa.
