Stoffel brings to the team of the biotechnology company valuable knowledge and experience in the human nutrition sector.

AlgaEnergy is currently immersed in the implementation of its ambitious Strategic Plan, which includes the development of new business lines. The biotechnology company is focusing its efforts in sectors where microalgae have great potential of application, particularly in the food sector, where thanks to their properties and the great nutritional richness of the phytoplankton biomass, potential is high. Therefore, it is not in vain that the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) recommends its consumption due to its great nutritional value, and has listed microalgae as the “food of the millennium".

In order to reinforce and lead this business unit, AlgaEnergy has announced the recent incorporation of Raschid Stoffel as Head of Food & Beverage, effective from last August. Stoffel received his B.Sc. in Pharmacy, specialized in Nutrition and Dietetics, from the ‘Universidad Complutense de Madrid’ and completed a Master in Finance at the ‘Instituto de Capital Riesgo & Fundación Rafael del Pino’. He accumulates significant experience in the nutrition and biotechnology sector, playing roles of responsibility in the field of business development, as well as in marketing and regulatory matters. He has held executive positions in companies with great international projection such as Elayo Group -as Director of Business Development-, AlphaSIP -as International Director, leading sales and marketing plans- and Neogen Corporation -leading the business development of the American multinational in the Swiss, Austrian and South-German markets-. Stoffel is also an Expert Evaluator of the European Commission, where he is hired to evaluate R&D proposals submitted by innovative SMEs that are seeking financing.

In his new position as Head of Food & Beverage, Raschid Stoffel will lead the challenge of consolidating the company's ambitious growth goals in the field of nutrition. His training, experience and knowledge of the sector, acquired throughout his extensive career, guarantee him as the ideal person to address this new responsibility.
