CEPYME has awarded the company's international expansion plan, which already has a presence in more than 20 countries and has more than 3 million customers worldwide.
AlgaEnergy adds another success to its long list of public awards. The Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME) has awarded the biotechnology company the CEPYME 2021 Award in the category of International Development. The company is also one of three finalists for the SME of the Year Award. The delivery of the CEPYME awards in its VIII edition of these prestigious awards took place on April 25th in the auditorium of Banco Santander in Madrid, and the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the Second Vice President, Yolanda Diaz were in attendance. The CEPYME Awards, which recognize the achievements of small and medium enterprises and their contribution to economic and social progress and job creation in our country, count on the Monarchy of Spain as honorary chairpersons.
The President of AlgaEnergy, Augusto Rodriguez-Villa, who received the award from the Second Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, highlighted that “in our country, there are more than 3 million SMEs. For this reason, having obtained this recognition and, in addition, having been selected as one of the three finalists for SME of the Year in Spain is a great satisfaction for the entire human team that makes up AlgaEnergy.”
Rodríguez-Villa has also pointed out that "recognitions like this award encourage us to continue with the task, not always easy, of developing an activity that is beneficial for society and the country's economy, which is what our company does every day, assuming risks but always with the desire to generate wealth and comfort around us.”
The recognition received, the CEPYME 2021 International Development Award, values the international expansion that the company has carried out in just two years, in which AlgaEnergy has successfully established subsidiaries in India, Turkey, Italy, France, the United States, Mexico , Brazil, Japan and Australia, in addition to exporting and marketing its products from the agricultural business line to more than 20 countries, where it already has more than 3 million customers.
AlgaEnergy's plans to extrapolate the success story obtained in the agricultural division to other sectors, taking its microalgae products and technology to the whole world. In addition, it will continue developing its agrobiological solutions for more efficient and sustainable agriculture, all with the main objective of becoming the reference partner for all farmers in the world. In this process, AlgaEnergy has established itself as the world reference in the microalgae sector, particularly, microalgae applied to agriculture and, more specifically, to regenerative agriculture, with a complete portfolio of patented solutions that cover the entire chain of inputs that farmers need.
Rodríguez-Villa has finally pointed out that “in the 2019 edition, our company was awarded the CEPYME Technological Innovation Award. This was already a relevant recognition of our firm commitment to R&I, which is bringing us such good results and the new distinction confirms that we are going in the right direction, working based on our values, with a double objective: improve people's quality of life and leave a more sustainable planet for future generations”, adds Rodríguez-Villa.
The CEPYME Awards are sponsored by Banco Santander and have the collaboration of Endesa, Meta, Randstad, Inserta-Fundación Once, Iberia, Visa, UPS, Orange, Google, Informa D&B, Wolters Kluwer, Axa and Vocento.
