The agreement, signed by AlgaEnergy’s President and the Mayor of Alcobendas, aims to promote the creation of employment in the city.
AlgaEnergy has signed a collaboration agreement with the Town Hall of Alcobendas, city in which its headquarters are located. AlgaEnergy joins to the more than 80 companies that actively collaborate with the city in order to boost jobs creation. The agreement was signed on 11th of December by the Mayor of Alcobendas, Ignacio García de Vinuesa, and AlgaEnergy’s President, Augusto Rodríguez-Villa.
This agreement is yet another example of AlgaEnergy's commitment to promote stable employment. Not in vain, in the last 18 months its team has grown significantly, from 17 to 35 employees -all of them with an indefinite contract-, many of them based in AlgaEnergy’s offices in Alcobendas and in its Technological Platform for Experimentation with Microalgae (PTEM), a pilot plant located at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport.
The Mayor of Alcobendas praised AlgaEnergy’s activity, while Augusto Rodríguez-Villa said that "since SMEs are the protagonists of growth and employment generation in our country, for AlgaEnergy each new recruitment is a new milestone in the company's success story". "Our aspiration is to keep making our country a worldwide benchmark in the biotechnological sector, and for this, it is essential to continue building a quality team motivated by the same passion: to develop microalgae based products that increase the quality of life and preserve the environment", added Rodríguez-Villa.
On November 16th, 2022 open voting for the Board of Directors of the European Biostimulants Industry Council (EBIC) took place, resulting in the election of AlgaEnergy’s Managing Director – Carlos Rodríguez-Villa as Vice President of the board – with 95 percent of the participatory vote.01 December, 2022
